We have been fortunate to be involved in the new concept store for Woolworths. A cross between a grocer and convenience store, the approach was to create a food ‘village’ for locals and visitors to do their day to day shopping. The design centres around de-cluttering the space and using materials that help the product take pride of place, creating a warm and engaging environment.

Woolworths (Woolomooloo – Sydney)

The Woolloomooloo store sits in the old Ford/Hastings Deering Building on Crown Street. Built in 1938, in the International Style, this building has many original features that were kept as homage to the past. Celebrating this past, throughout the store there are large photographs by one of Australia’s most famous photographers Max Dupain, of the exterior and interiors when it was used as a Ford showroom. This concept has been a great success in both the Woolloomooloo and Erskineville stores and we hope more will roll out in the future.
